The Up-Doos – Aria Jones, Esther Stephens and Liv Tennet – have entertained sell-out crowds at events around Auckland and beyond. But, as any good pirate knows, a proper pirate party must be a stolen one. So now, get ready to set sail into the high seas of imagination as Margaret Mahy’s delightful tale, The Great Piratical Rumbustification comes to life in a swashbuckling stage performance by Tim Bray Theatre Company. Mayhem ensues in this rollicking, rumbunctious rumpus of an escapade by Tim Bray Theatre Company that promises the most piratical fun you’ve had in years. Yo ho ho! “Perhaps (Tim) Bray’s most noteworthy quality as an adapter/director of children’s stories is his uncanny ability to find the essence of the works he adapts and to find ways to translate this to the stage. His work with Mahy’s quirky creations is no exception. It’s been my pleasure to see many of (Tim) Bray’s children’s theatre works but I have to say The Great Piratical Rumbustification is quite simply his best effort yet and it’s all down to harmony.” – Lexie Matheson, Theatreview -- For NZSL Interpreted, Audio Described, and Sensory Relaxed performance dates and accessibility resources, head to timbray.org.nz/accessible-performances/ Costume Parade Dress up in character! We love to see imaginations running wild and encourage our young audience to dress up as their favourite Great Piratical Rumbustification characters.
